Almost six years after the closure, it was time for Anundgård's preschool to once again open its doors! The struggle has been long and arduous to open the preschool again in Holm, which has long been the municipality's only district without preschool activities. However, the future looks bright with both a positive wave of immigration and expected additions to the village.
The preschool hit again this year 2019 and the business “put on ice”, with the words that it would open again if the basis for children in the resort improved. After just a couple of years, the number of children in Holm had grown to more than meet the requirements for a preschool in the then sparsely populated area 16 children reported that they wanted a place. For a long time, the municipality of Sundsvall did not want to answer questions about reopening the preschool. The preschool was also made impossible to find or apply for a place, which was a prerequisite for the municipality to be able to know what basis was available for opening, but even so, HBU has & the parents in Holm have not given up.
But then today, on Monday 19 August 2024, the fight for the kindergarten has come to an end! Children and parents came to start school in the newly renovated premises and the staff had their first “sharp working day” at the new workplace. Sundsvalls Tidning was also there and made a report: ST: After a long struggle – the preschool in Holm opens.
Balloons and flag at the top, in honor of the rededication day.
The association Holmbygdens Utveckling och Idrott presented a flower and congratulations.
"We have skilled educators on site who will offer the children the best possible education and they have worked extremely hard to get everything in place", says principal Anna Holter – as here ST's photographer is photographed.
Amelia Sahlin rode her bike throughout her first day of preschool. Just before she was going home, she took the opportunity to swing a little. "The fact that there is a preschool means a lot to the village. It is important for children of the same age to get to know each other. You get more community”, says mother Elin. Hall and cloakroom. Place for dirty boots and galonis.
"It has been a long wait for everything to be ready. We have used the time to prepare as best we can. We will be a nature-based preschool, but no clean out and scrub", says educator Rozi Skralovnik to ST.
